Resources Needed to Fulfill Goals

A. FINANCES

Goal: Financial stability to accomplish the UUFB goals

Objective # 1 – Increase pledge income for operating expenses

Strategy: Continue increase in pledge income of 13% per year and increase percent of income from pledges from average of 84% to 90%

Responsibility: Canvass Council, Finance Committee, Board

Resources: Finance Com. and Canvass records

Milestones: 2003 to 2006

Objective # 2 – Plan for financing a building

Strategy: Form a capital fund raising committee

Responsibility: Board

Resources: Previous committees, meetings with UUA consultants

Milestones: 2002 to 2006

Objective # 3 – Expand scope of Financial Planning Committee

Strategy: Develop a five year plan for all types of funding and expenses

Responsibility: Finance Committee and Board

Resources: Records of past operating budgets

Milestones: 2002 to 2005

Objective # 4 – Planned Giving Program

Strategy: Promote planned giving program and increase number of applicants

Responsibility: Investment and Planned Giving Committee

Resources: UUA planned giving material; attorneys and investment advisors

Milestones: 2002 to 2006

Objective # 5 – Supplement income with additional sources of funding

Strategies:

1. Consider all fund raising activities, including Auction, other special events, grocery certificates, coffee sales, and others

Responsibility: Auction Committee, Board, other committees

Resources: Board policy on fund raising, committee records

Milestones: 2002 to 2005

2. Consider grants for special purpose expenses

Responsibility: Board and committee chairs

Resources: UUA, MDD, Chalice Lighters, and others

Milestones: 2003 to 2006
