FOCUS # 2:  UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST PRINCIPLES

 

Goal:  Promotion of UU Principles in society and within the Congregation

 

Objective # 1 – Emphasis and promotion of UU Principles to all members, non-members, children and youth in Sunday Services, Adult RE classes, and CYRE classes

 

                        Strategies:

 

1.      Emphasize UU Principles in Sunday services, Adult RE  and CYRE classes

 

Responsibility:  Minister, CYRE Director, Adult RE Com., Board

Resources:  Adult RE and CYRE curriculum, UUA information

Milestones:  2002 to 2006

 

                        2.   The Minister and other individuals to speak publicly often on issues of concern

 

Responsibility:  Minister, Board

Resources:  Members and friends

Milestones:  2003 and 2006

 

3.      Development a media strategy for sharing our views through advertising in many papers, written materials, and other innovative methods

 

Responsibility:  Board, Publicity Com.

Resources:  Current ads, community resources

Milestones:  2002 to 2004

 

Objective # 2 – Community action and outreach that will reflect UU Principles and win victories for social justice and environment protection

 

                        Strategies:

 

1.      Encourage UUFB social action with a unifying theme and UU identity

 

Responsibility:  Social Concerns Com., Board

Resources:  Survey of members and friends, Minister

Milestones:  2002 to 2006

 

2.   Increase contributions to the Gilbert Fund by 10%/year, and increase suggestions for worthy causes in Boulder County by 10%/year

 

Responsibility:  Social Concerns Com., Board

Resources:  Social Concerns records, County organizations, Minister, members

3.   Increase number of participants in ongoing programs, such as letter writing table, Homeless shelter, homeless breakfasts, Community Food Share

4.      Encourage participation in community service by Men’s Group, Women’s groups, Campus ministry, and other programs or groups
