C. STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS

 

Goal # 1:  A fairly compensated and adequate staff headed by the Minister

 

Objective # 1 – A program of ministerial internships

 

Strategy:  Provide a ministerial  internship approximately every other year

 

            Responsibility:  Minister, Ministerial Relations Com., Board

            Resources:  UUFB Finance Com., UUA grants

           

Objective # 2 – Provide a full-time Director of Religious Education

 

Strategy:  Increase hours of DRE and add Adult RE

 

            Responsibility:  CYRE Committee, DRE and Minister

            Resources:  CYRE Committee, Adult RE Committee

           

Objective # 3 – Provide a half-time assistant/co-minister

 

Strategy:  Assist Minister in pastoral care, outreach, campus ministry, volunteer

                        Management, service, and/or public witness

 

            Responsibility:  Minister, Ministerial Relations Committee, Board

            Resources:  Minister, UUA, MDD

           

Objective # 4 – Provide increased office staff

 

Strategy:  Add bookkeeper; revise and enlarge congregational database; support for

                        Increased membership; increase hours the office is open

 

            Responsibility:  Office Manager, Minister, Board

            Resources:  Staff, committee chairs, Board

           

Objective # 5 – Provide health insurance and retirement plan for staff

 

                Responsibility:  Personnel committee, Board

            Resources:  Staff, other churches

           

Objective # 6 – Provide increased staff support to the Music Program

 

Strategy:  Increase Music Director’s hours to year-round; provide a coordinator for

                                Adult and children’s choirs, dance, small ensembles

 

            Responsibility:  Music Director, Choir Director, Music Committee

            Resources:  Staff, members, musicians, CU music dept.

 

 

Objective # 7 – Provide child care for all Fellowship events

 

Strategy:  Coordinate special events with Sunday morning programs

 

            Responsibility:  DRE, Office Manager

            Resources:  RE hourly staff, members

           

 

Goal # 2:  A well-managed volunteer program

 

Objective # 1 – Increase pool of volunteers and decrease volunteer burnout

 

Strategies:  Integrate new members and maximize use of their talents, and offer 

                        Volunteeraining programs

 

            Responsibility:   Program Council Chair, Board

            Resources:  Minister, other UU churches

           

Objective # 2 – Establish a position of volunteeer coordinator

 

Strategy:  Consider staffing and coordination of a revised volunteer organization

 

            Responsibility:  Program Council Chair, Board

            Resources:  Minister, other UU churches
